Laura joined TravelTax last year as one of our knowledgeable tax home consultants! She has a degree in Business Marketing with a minor in Business Development from American Military/Public University. She has owned multiple businesses, won international awards and government contracts as well as orchestrated contract negotiations in Poland, Brazil and Colombia.  This included helping rebuild a Government DOD contracting company as their operations Manager from under 350k gross (4 employees and 1 division) to over 3.5 M in 16 months (15 employees and 3 divisions) resulting in a promotion to VP of Procurement division.

As if that wasn’t admirable enough and considering retirement in 2017, instead she opened Southland Wealth Consulting as a certified Dave Ramsey Preferred Financial Coach and offered financial coaching and educational services including Financial Peace University classes, private and group online classes for teens and adults and individual private consulting sessions. Simultaneously, while providing this service she worked as a full-time accounting, business, computer, coding, and financial wellness teacher at Kemper Academy in Dekalb, MS.  She resigned from teaching at the private school in January 2022 – while continuing to provide financial coaching consulting outside of there.

Last year she transitioned to Traveltax tax home consultant department, and the rest is history! Laura loves working with clients to help them to achieve their vision and give them clarity in their navigation in attaining their career objectives and financial goals. 

Laura loves spending time with her 3 children, 4 stepchildren and their spouses, 15 grandchildren, running cows on her 100-acre farm, running her Airbnb there, managing her other investment rental properties, attending church, crocheting, reading, art, and beekeeping.
