TavelTax: Tax preparation for travel nurses and other traveling medical and mobile professionals



 

I was a travel respiratory therapist for over three years. My license plate really turned some heads.

I was a double major in college - Respiratory Therapy and Accounting, finishing in 1989. The next year, I married Daina and we began traveling. It was a long honeymoon! After the last assignment in Leonardtown, Maryland, we settled in the Washington DC area for 8 years. In 2001, we moved to Norfolk, Nebraska where we live now. Daina is an part time ICU nurse and a former H&R Block employee.

I started a small tax practice in 1987 serving a few small business and individual clients. I began assisting travelers during my assignments and continued to receive referrals after settling in the DC area. As my client list grew rapidly, I realized that few tax professionals understand the unique situations of mobile professionals. As a result, TravelTax was born.
