Are there benefits to being independent or incorporating?

There are many advantages for travelers who work as independently. Certainly the best perk is the ability to structure your own benefits package (within certain limits). The success of going independent depends on the availability of jobs and the type of corporate structure that you choose (sole proprietor, C Corp, S Corp, LLC or partnership). Many hospitals will not employ a individual as a company nor will they pay healthcare providers as independent contractors. There can also be a lot of paperwork involved.
